M.Lib.I.Sc. Entrance Coaching
Entrance preparation for the Master of Library & Information Science at JMI, AMU and CUET PG universities, covering library science fundamentals, knowledge organisation and ICT.
About M.Lib.I.Sc.
Jamia Millia Islamia offers the M.Lib.I.Sc. (Master of Library & Information Science) as a regular, self-financed programme lasting two semesters. It is a one-year professional degree that usually follows a bachelor's degree in library science, and it builds advanced skills in organising, managing, retrieving and preserving information in print and digital environments.
JMI's curriculum is strongly technology-oriented. Advanced areas include planning and management of library and information systems, advanced knowledge organisation, ICT in library and information science, electronic information sources and services, information storage and retrieval, research methodology, research ethics and academic integrity, information literacy, ICT practicals and project work.
The entrance therefore tests both traditional library science (classification, cataloguing, reference sources, management) and modern topics such as automation, digital libraries and retrieval. Seats, eligibility, dates and the test pattern for 2027–28 will be confirmed in the new JMI prospectus.
Who can apply
Eligibility varies between universities. Where a B.Lib.I.Sc., BLIS or equivalent qualification is required, you must hold it before admission. Check the exact degree and minimum marks in the 2027–28 prospectus of each university you apply to.
