Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling Entrance Coaching
Preparation for JMI's RCI-approved Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling, a two-semester programme of the Department of Psychology for psychology postgraduates.
About Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling
The Advanced Diploma in Child Guidance and Counselling is a self-financed programme of JMI's Department of Psychology. JMI lists it as an RCI-approved programme (Rehabilitation Council of India) and announced its launch in November 2025. It offers specialised training in children's development, behaviour, learning and adjustment, and in guidance and counselling work with children and their families.
It is a postgraduate-level professional qualification rather than a general counselling certificate, and it is open only to candidates with a relevant master's degree. Intake is small, 25 seats in 2026–27, so the entrance test is competitive.
The JMI 2026–27 prospectus listed the programme fee as ₹85,000. Fees, seats and dates can change, so check the 2027–28 prospectus when it is published.

How selection works
In 2026–27 JMI held a separate entrance test for A12, called candidates for an interview and then published the list of selected candidates. Apply through JMI's admission portal when the 2027–28 forms open, and use the code A12 on the form and when checking the admit card, result and selection list.
Prepare for the interview as seriously as for the written test. Be ready to discuss your master's dissertation or fieldwork, why you want to work with children, and basic ethical questions in counselling.
