Diploma in Leather Goods & Footwear Technology Entrance Coaching
Admission guidance and entrance preparation for the six-semester Diploma in Leather Goods & Footwear Technology at JMI's University Polytechnic.
About Diploma (Leather Goods & Footwear Technology)
Jamia Millia Islamia's University Polytechnic lists the Diploma in Leather Goods & Footwear Technology among its diploma programmes. It is a six-semester technical diploma, roughly three academic years, for students interested in footwear, leather products and the manufacturing processes behind them.
In the 2026–27 prospectus the programme carried code D02, was listed as self-financed and was admitted through a JMI entrance test of 90 minutes. JMI later issued a notice dated 26 April 2026 stating that D02 would not commence in the 2026–27 session because of a smaller number of applications.
The programme therefore still exists in JMI's academic catalogue, but whether it opens for admission in 2027–28 will only be known when the new prospectus is released. We prepare students on the foundation subjects now and align the plan with the official syllabus once it is published.
Who can apply
For 2026–27, candidates could qualify through Class 10 with at least 55% in aggregate of Science and Mathematics; Class 12 with at least 50% in aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; or an equivalent certificate course, a two-year government-recognised ITI, or Senior Secondary in Vocational Engineering with at least 50%, subject to JMI's full conditions. Candidates who passed with Elementary Mathematics and Elementary Science were not eligible. Verify the 2027–28 rules in the new prospectus.
