About JMI diploma programmes
JMI's diplomas fall into four groups. The University Polytechnic runs Diploma Engineering in five branches and a self-financed diploma in Leather Goods & Footwear Technology. The Faculty of Humanities & Languages runs part-time diplomas in foreign languages, Arabic, Persian, Pashto and English translation. The Faculty of Life Sciences runs a self-financed Diploma in Unani Pharmacy, and the Faculty of Education runs the D.El.Ed. teacher-education diploma.
Eligibility differs sharply. Diploma Engineering is open after Class X with Science and Mathematics, most language diplomas need 10+2, and some ask for the language at school or a certificate in it. Most programmes are filled through JMI's own entrance test, but a few, such as the Diploma in Translation Proficiency in English, have been filled through CUET.

How JMI admits to diplomas
Apply through JMI's admission portal when the 2027–28 forms open. For most diplomas JMI holds its own entrance test, with the date, time and eligibility given in the entrance schedule annexed to the prospectus. Programmes on JMI's CUET list are filled through CUET scores instead.
In 2025–26, for example, the Diploma Engineering test was held in several cities on 27 May 2025, while the diplomas in Turkish and in Translation Proficiency in English were filled through CUET. Routes can change, so treat earlier years only as a guide.
Check your code carefully: the same code is used on the form, admit card, result and selection list.

How many seats are there in JMI Diploma Engineering?
The 2026–27 prospectus listed 72 seats in each of five branches, 360 in all, in both the regular and the self-financed programmes.
Is every JMI diploma admitted through an entrance test?
No. Most use JMI's own test, but some are filled through CUET. Check the route for your code in the 2027–28 prospectus.
Can I apply for a JMI diploma after Class 10?
Diploma Engineering accepts Class X candidates with Science and Mathematics who meet the minimum marks. Most language diplomas need 10+2.
Is a PG diploma the same as a diploma?
No. Postgraduate diplomas need a bachelor's degree and are listed separately on our PG diploma page.
