About PG Diploma in Disaster Management
Disaster management covers the whole cycle of hazards such as floods, earthquakes, cyclones, heatwaves and industrial accidents: risk assessment, mitigation, preparedness, emergency response, relief and recovery. India's Disaster Management Act, 2005 set up a national framework that needs trained people at every level.
JMI's Department of Geography offers the P.G. Diploma in Disaster Management as a self-financed evening programme of two semesters, with 40 seats listed in the 2026–27 prospectus.
The evening timing makes it practical for working graduates in government, NGOs, urban services and the corporate sector who want a recognised qualification in risk reduction and emergency management.
