P.G. Diploma in Preservation, Conservation and Digitisation in Libraries and Archives Entrance Coaching
Preparation for the two-semester diploma run by JMI's Dr. Zakir Husain Library on caring for, conserving and digitising library and archival collections.
About the PG Diploma in Preservation, Conservation and Digitisation
Libraries and archives hold manuscripts, rare books, records and photographs that decay with time, climate and handling. Preservation and conservation protect these materials; digitisation creates digital copies that can be stored safely and shared widely.
At JMI this diploma is offered by the Dr. Zakir Husain Library, the university's central library, which is unusual for a university programme. The 2026–27 prospectus lists it as a two-semester programme with 30 seats.
It suits graduates in library and information science, history, archives, museum studies or allied fields, and working library staff who want specialised skills in collection care and digital archives.
