P.G. Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS Application Entrance Coaching
Preparation for JMI's two-semester PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS Application, run by the Department of Geography.
About PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS
Remote sensing is the study of the Earth's surface from satellite and aerial images; a Geographic Information System (GIS) stores, analyses and maps that spatial data. Together they are used in urban planning, agriculture, forestry, water resources, disaster response and environmental monitoring.
At JMI the PG Diploma in Remote Sensing & GIS Application is a regular programme of the Department of Geography, listed as two semesters on the department's programme page and in the 2026–27 prospectus.
The diploma is a practical, skills-based qualification. It suits graduates in geography, earth and environmental sciences or allied subjects who want to work with mapping software, satellite data and spatial analysis without committing to a full master's degree.
