About JMI M.Ed. Special Education
M.Ed. Special Education at Jamia Millia Islamia is offered by the Department of Teacher Training and Non-Formal Education (IASE). Admission is through JMI’s own entrance test, which in 2026–27 carried programme code M37.

Shortlisted candidates are also called for an interview or group discussion before the final selection list.
Who can apply
For 2026–27: B.Ed. Special Education with at least 50% in the respective disability area (or an RCI-recognised equivalent), or B.Ed. General plus an RCI-recognised Diploma in Special Education in that area with at least 50% in each, or the four-year integrated B.A./B.Sc./B.Com. B.Ed. Spl. Ed. A valid RCI registration is required. Specialisations in 2026–27: Visual Impairment and Specific Learning Disability. Final-year students should check the prospectus for rules on appearing candidates.

JMI has not announced the 2027–28 schedule yet (as of 25 October 2026). In 2026 the test was held on 17 May 2026, 3:00–4:30 PM. Expect a similar window in May 2027.
