About JMI M.Sc. Virology
M.Sc. Virology at Jamia Millia Islamia is offered by the Multidisciplinary Centre for Advanced Research & Studies (MCARS) as a self-financed programme. Admission is through JMI’s own entrance test, which in 2026–27 carried programme code M86.

Who can apply
For 2026–27: A bachelor’s or B.Tech. degree in Science or a related discipline (such as microbiology, life sciences/biosciences, virology, biotechnology, biochemistry, chemistry), BVSc, B.Voc. Medical Electrophysiology, B.Sc. Medical Laboratory Technology, MBBS/BDS, food technology, genetics, toxicology or allied subjects, with at least 50% marks or equivalent grade. Biology at 10+2 or graduation level is essential. Final-year students should check the prospectus for rules on appearing candidates.
