JMI Advanced Diploma in Languages Entrance Coaching
Preparation for JMI's part-time advanced diplomas in Arabic, Pashto and six foreign languages, which build on a diploma you have already completed in the same language.
About Advanced Diploma (Languages)
Advanced diplomas are the top rung of JMI's language programmes, after the certificate and the diploma. The Department of Foreign Languages offers them in French, Spanish, Italian, Russian, Portuguese and Turkish; the Department of Arabic offers Modern Arabic Language & Translation; and the Department of Persian offers Pashto.
JMI describes its Advanced Diploma in French as a one-year course of about 160–180 hours that develops advanced language skills, including the use of French in commercial, administrative, scientific and tourism settings, together with the culture and society of French-speaking regions. The other foreign-language advanced diplomas follow the same one-year, part-time model.
These are not beginner courses. You are expected to arrive with diploma-level command of the language, and the entrance, where there is one, tests that level.

Who can apply
For 2026–27 the foreign-language advanced diplomas required Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 45% in the aggregate of the best five papers, plus a Diploma in the concerned language from a university or recognised institution. Modern Arabic Language & Translation (A01) required one year (two semesters) of a bachelor's programme with Arabic as a subject, or a one-year Diploma in Arabic, with at least 50% in the subject. Admission routes
JMI entrance test
Some languages are filled through JMI's own test, pitched at diploma level in that language. In 2026–27 the Advanced Diploma in Russian had a JMI test; in 2025–26 so did Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Modern Arabic and Modern Persian.
CUET (UG)
Others are filled through CUET scores. In 2026–27 Turkish and Portuguese were listed for admission through CUET; in 2025–26 Turkish, French and Pashto were. You must complete both the CUET application and JMI's own registration.

Which advanced diploma languages does JMI offer?
In 2026–27: Modern Arabic Language & Translation, Turkish, French, Italian, Spanish, Russian, Portuguese and Pashto. JMI's directory also lists Modern Persian.
Can I apply with only Class 12?
Usually not. In 2026–27 the foreign-language advanced diplomas required a diploma in the same language in addition to 10+2.
Is admission through CUET?
It depends on the language and the year. In 2026–27 Turkish and Portuguese were listed under CUET, while Russian had a JMI entrance test.
How long is the course?
The foreign-language and Pashto advanced diplomas are one-year part-time programmes; Modern Arabic Language & Translation runs for two semesters.
How many seats are there?
In 2026–27 there were 30 seats in Modern Arabic, 25 each in French and Spanish, and 10 each in the other languages.
