Who can apply
For 2026–27: M.Sc. in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Physics, Applied Physics, Operational Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Mathematics with Computer Science or Bioinformatics with at least 55% (or equivalent CGPA); or MCA with at least 55%; or B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics, Computer, Electrical, Mechanical or IT engineering with at least 55%. Final-year students should check the prospectus for rules on appearing candidates.

GATE and the JMI entrance test
JMI gives preference in M.Tech admission to GATE-qualified candidates (marks at or above the General-category qualifying mark, valid at admission). The remaining seats are filled through JMI’s own entrance test, which is held for all M.Tech programmes.
