About JMI M.Tech. Data Sciences
M.Tech. Data Sciences at Jamia Millia Islamia is offered by the Department of Computer Engineering as a self-financed programme. Admission is through JMI’s own entrance test, which in 2026–27 carried programme code M91 and was held in several cities.

Who can apply
For 2026–27: B.Tech./B.E. in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, CSE, Computer Technology, IT, Electrical, Electronics or Mechanical Engineering; or MCA; or M.Sc. in Computer Science, IT, IMCA, Electronics, Mathematics with Computer Science, M.Sc. Tech. or M.Sc. Mathematics; with at least 55% marks or equivalent CGPA. Final-year students should check the prospectus for rules on appearing candidates.

GATE and the JMI entrance test
JMI gives preference in M.Tech admission to GATE-qualified candidates (marks at or above the General-category qualifying mark, valid at admission). The remaining seats are filled through JMI’s own entrance test, which is held for all M.Tech programmes.
