JMI Diploma in Engineering Entrance Coaching
Preparation for the University Polytechnic diploma entrance at Jamia Millia Islamia, built on a strong Class 9–10 Mathematics and Science foundation.
About the JMI Diploma in Engineering
Jamia Millia Islamia's University Polytechnic runs three-year (six-semester) diploma programmes in engineering, offered in regular and self-financed categories. The diploma is one of the most popular routes into technical education at JMI for students who have finished Class 10, and it later opens the way to lateral-entry and evening B.E. programmes for working diploma holders.
Admission is through JMI's own entrance test. Because the test is pitched at secondary-school level, the deciding factors are a clear grasp of Class 9–10 Mathematics and Science, speed with MCQs, and accuracy under time pressure. Competition is strong, so preparation should start well before the prospectus is released.
Programme codes, seats, eligibility percentages, the test date and pattern for 2027–28 will be published in the new JMI prospectus. Use the official syllabus from that prospectus as the final reference.
Who can apply
The diploma is open to students who have passed Class 10 (Secondary) with Science and Mathematics, and JMI also prescribes routes for students with Class 12 (PCM) and recognised technical or vocational qualifications. Minimum marks differ by route and category, and students who studied Elementary Mathematics or Elementary Science have been excluded in recent cycles. Check the exact conditions in the 2027–28 JMI prospectus before applying.
