Who can apply
Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks in the aggregate of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and in the subject concerned (JMI 2026–27 prospectus). Confirm the final conditions in the 2027–28 prospectus.

AMU and CUET (UG)
AMU B.Sc. (Hons) Physics
AMU admits through a Combined Admission Test for B.Sc. (Hons) with sections in English, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics and Biology (25 marks each). English, Chemistry and Physics are compulsory, plus Mathematics or Biology; Physics-major candidates need Mathematics at 10+2.
CUET (UG)
Participating universities use CUET domain papers such as Physics (322), Chemistry (306) and Mathematics/Applied Mathematics (319). The required combination differs by university, so check each target university's rules.

The paper has 100 questions at CBSE 10+2 level: Physics 50, Mathematics 30 and Chemistry 20.
Is JMI B.Sc. Physics admission through CUET?
No. For 2026–27 JMI conducted its own entrance test for B.Sc. (Hons) Physics. Check the 2027–28 prospectus for any change.
Can I prepare for JMI and AMU B.Sc. Physics together?
Yes. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics are common to both. AMU aspirants also prepare the English section and practise AMU-pattern mock tests.
Is NCERT enough for the JMI B.Sc. Physics entrance?
NCERT Class XI–XII is the foundation, but you also need numerical practice, chapter-wise MCQs, previous-year questions and timed mock tests.
