About B.A. LL.B (Hons)
B.A. LL.B (Hons) is an integrated undergraduate law programme that combines humanities and social science subjects with professional legal education over five years (ten semesters).
JMI offers the programme through its Faculty of Law in Regular and Self-Financed modes, both under programme code B26. The legal component includes constitutional law, contract, torts, criminal law, family and property law, jurisprudence, procedure, evidence and other subjects; the exact curriculum varies by university.
Students from Arts, Commerce and Science can apply if they meet the eligibility conditions. Prior study of law is not needed: entrance-level legal aptitude tests reasoning from basic principles.

AMU and CUET (UG)
AMU B.A. LL.B.
AMU conducts its own admission test for its 10-semester B.A. LL.B., offered at Aligarh and at the AMU Centres in Malappuram and Murshidabad (2026–27). The test has 100 objective questions: English 40, current affairs/GK with emphasis on legal issues 40, and reasoning and aptitude 20. Eligibility is Class XII or equivalent with at least 50% aggregate, or another route recognised by AMU.
CUET (UG)
Whether a university admits to an integrated law programme through CUET, and which papers it requires, depends on that university. JMI B26 and AMU B.A. LL.B. use their own tests. For CUET-based law admissions, verify the required papers, language, domain subjects, General Aptitude requirement and minimum eligibility for each university.

Can I prepare for JMI and AMU B.A. LL.B together?
Yes. English, current affairs, GK, reasoning and legal awareness overlap considerably, but you should take separate JMI- and AMU-pattern mock tests because the marks distribution differs.
Does JMI or AMU B.A. LL.B admission use CUET?
No. Under the 2026–27 admission documents, JMI used its own B26 entrance test and AMU used its own admission test.
Can Science and Commerce students apply for B.A. LL.B?
Yes. JMI's latest prospectus allows qualifying Class XII candidates from any discipline who meet its marks and other eligibility conditions.
Is legal aptitude difficult if I have never studied law?
Prior formal study of law is not necessary. Basic principles and legal reasoning can be learnt through systematic practice.
