B.Sc. Biosciences Entrance Coaching
Focused preparation for the JMI B.Sc. Biosciences entrance test, with a Class XI–XII Biology, Chemistry and Physics foundation that also supports AMU life-science admissions and CUET (UG).
About B.Sc. Biosciences
B.Sc. Biosciences is an undergraduate science programme on living organisms and biological processes. It draws on biochemistry, cell and molecular biology, genetics, microbiology, plant and animal biology, ecology, evolution, physiology, immunology, biotechnology and bioinformatics.
At JMI the programme is offered by the Department of Biosciences, Faculty of Life Sciences, as an 8-semester regular programme. It leads to higher study and careers in biological research, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, environmental science and allied life-science fields.
Who can apply
Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks in each science subject: Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics (JMI 2026–27 prospectus). Confirm the final conditions in the 2027–28 prospectus.

AMU and CUET (UG)
AMU life-science admissions
JMI and AMU are separate universities, so the JMI B63 code and syllabus do not apply to AMU. Check AMU's Guide to Admissions for the exact programme, eligibility, test route and subject requirements of the life-science course you choose.
CUET (UG)
There is no single CUET combination for biosciences programmes. Universities may require Biology/Biological Science/Biotechnology/Biochemistry (304), Chemistry (306), Physics (322), Mathematics, a language or the General Aptitude Test, so check each target university's rules.
How we prepare you
Preparation plan
- Read NCERT Class XI–XII Biology closely: diagrams, terms, examples and tables
- Build Chemistry and Physics alongside Biology, not after it
- Make short notes and solve chapter-wise MCQs after each chapter
- Class XII students: pair board study with entrance MCQs chapter by chapter
- Droppers: start with a diagnostic test and target weak chapters
- Take subject tests, then full-length timed mocks, and classify every mistake

Career and higher-study options
B.Sc. Biosciences entrance: common questions
What is the JMI B.Sc. Biosciences programme code?
The latest JMI prospectus lists B63 for B.Sc. Biosciences, an 8-semester regular programme of the Department of Biosciences.
What is the eligibility for JMI B.Sc. Biosciences?
Senior Secondary (10+2) or equivalent with at least 50% marks in each science subject: Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Mathematics, subject to the university's full conditions.
Is JMI B.Sc. Biosciences admission through CUET?
No. For 2026–27 B.Sc. Biosciences (B63) had its own JMI entrance test. Check the 2027–28 prospectus for any change.
Which subjects should I prepare for the Biosciences entrance?
Biology, Chemistry and Physics form the core. The exact subjects depend on the university and admission route.
What is the CUET code for Biology?
Biology/Biological Science/Biotechnology/Biochemistry is CUET (UG) domain subject code 304. Chemistry is 306 and Physics is 322.
Can I prepare for JMI, AMU and CUET together?
Yes. The Biology, Chemistry and Physics foundation overlaps, but take exam-specific tests and follow each programme's exact admission requirements.
Is NCERT enough for the JMI Biosciences entrance?
NCERT is the essential foundation, but you also need MCQ practice, previous-year questions, revision and timed mock tests.
