JMI’s latest eligibility framework reflects NEP 2020 and the National Higher Education Qualifications Framework.
For candidates under the older/pre-NEP undergraduate system, the 2026–27 criteria included:
- B.A. (Hons.) Sociology – minimum 50% aggregate, or
- B.A. with Sociology as one of the subjects – minimum 55% aggregate, or
- B.A./B.Com./B.Sc. or B.Sc. (Hons.) in disciplines other than Sociology – minimum 60% aggregate
