B.Voc Solar Energy Entrance Coaching
Focused preparation for the JMI B.Voc (Solar Energy) entrance test, with Physics at the centre, the Mathematics needed for numericals and an introduction to solar and renewable energy.
About B.Voc Solar Energy
B.Voc (Solar Energy) is a vocational undergraduate programme that combines academic study with practical, industry-oriented skills in solar and renewable energy: photovoltaic systems, electricity and electronics, energy conversion, electrical measurement, installation, maintenance and energy efficiency.
At JMI it is a self-financed, 8-semester programme of the Department of Physics. For 2026–27 JMI held a separate entrance test for it, so preparation should focus on Class XI–XII Physics, supported by Mathematics.
Who can apply
JMI's 2026–27 rules list four routes: (1) NSQF Level 4 certification in an industry sector related to solar energy; (2) NSQF Level 4 certification in another sector, for candidates changing sector; (3) 10+2 or equivalent, without previous vocational training, with at least 50% marks and Physics and Mathematics studied at 10+2 level; (4) a three-year Diploma in Engineering in any discipline with at least 50% marks from a recognised board or university. Confirm the conditions in the 2027–28 prospectus.

AMU and CUET (UG)
AMU
Do not assume AMU offers an identical B.Voc Solar Energy programme. Check AMU's latest Guide to Admissions for undergraduate programmes in physics, engineering, energy or environmental science; preparation overlaps where the syllabus covers Physics and Mathematics.
CUET (UG)
CUET has no separate Solar Energy paper. Relevant papers include Physics, Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Environmental Science and the General Aptitude Test; the required combination depends on the university and programme.
How we prepare you
Preparation plan
- NCERT Class XI–XII Physics, especially electricity, semiconductors and modern physics
